From Clay to Something Special
Behind every Clayora ceramic is a process that takes time, patience, skill, and care. What may look like a simple mug, bowl, or tableware piece begins as a humble piece of clay and goes through many careful stages before it reaches your hands.
01. Selecting the Clay
Every creation begins with the right clay. We carefully select and prepare the clay to achieve the desired strength, texture, and finish of each piece.
02. Shaping by Hand
The clay is then shaped into its intended form. Depending on the design, it may be carefully moulded, pressed, or shaped by skilled hands. This is where the product begins to take its personality.
03. Creating the Details
The little details make a Clayora piece feel unique. Handles, curves, textures, patterns, and decorative elements are carefully added and refined to bring the original design to life.
04. Drying with Patience
Once shaped, each piece needs time to dry naturally. This stage requires patience and careful handling because the ceramic must dry properly before it can move to the next step.
05. First Firing
The dried pieces are carefully placed inside a kiln for their first firing. Under high temperatures, the clay transforms into a strong ceramic form, ready for its final finish.
06. Glazing & Finishing
Now comes the finishing touch. Glazes are carefully applied to create the desired colour, texture, and character. Each piece is checked to make sure its finish reflects the design we envisioned.
07. Final Firing
The glazed pieces return to the kiln for their final firing. This high-temperature process helps create the durable, beautiful ceramic finish that makes each piece ready for everyday use.
08. Quality Check
Before a Clayora product reaches you, it goes through a careful inspection. We look at its shape, finish, details, and overall quality because we want every piece you receive to feel just right.
